Well bizarrely, someone sent me this link to a bunch of 50k maps of Serbia and Montenegro, on a site run by former members of the Yugoslav air forces. But they couldn’t be those top secret, hush-hush maps could they?! All I can say is, I have nothing to do with the material linked to above, for all I know they will be removed at some point in the near future, and I would certainly have nothing to do with dabbling in Serbian military secrets, or the commercial property of the Serbian Cartographic Institute. You’re on your own.
(however, if you are really intent on entering this murky world, these maps, though somewhat out of date, COULD be callibrated in a program like OziExplorer and used to plot tracks through hiking/mountain biking terrain for use in your GPS. This site also contains maps of other parts of the former Yugoslavia as far as I can see, here. Again, I disclaim any association with this site, especially if it’s illegal!!)
