Serbia Bike Trek 2008, Day One

    img104.jpg

Camp location: Kaona, N 43′42.48, E 20′22.6, 530m elevation. Ride length: 17.5 km Drove down to central Serbia in Rob’s Niva, picking up Vlada and his bike on the way. This year’s trip will be a bit different to last year’s. Instead of making a long trip across Serbia we will be working our way southwards but basing ourselves in several different spots and doing circuits in each area. This is mainly because we couldn’t find a driver this year to follow us. We’ve come to the relatively tame area of Dragacevo, famous for it’s Guca brass music festival. it’s rolling hills, less than 1000m in height and a great start to the trek, to get ourselves warmed up for the more serious stuff ahead. Even managed a quick ride today, after getting camp set up on a plot by someone’s house, and everything looks good. Even the weather, which is just as well as Rob seems to have brought a child’s play tent by mistake..!
